if ampegs are made in china now could that mean that the price of USA made ampegs will go up in the used market?

If this happens, the prices will definitely go up. They are high enough already at about a $1,000.00 for the SVT-2 Pro and the same for the 8x10E

*and now for something completely different*

The best Chinese food I ever had was in, get this, China! Beijing to be exact. Peking duck never tasted so good . . . runner-up is this one restaurant called The Pacific Room in Singapore. Oh man, was that place good. I wish there was stuff like that around here that didn't cost a fortune.

What a great thread...

Music and food!

Every New Years Eve we have a Chinese food feast. We had 20 people at the house this year and everyone had a ball! I miss the Chinese food in Chinatown in NYC. 69 Bayard Street had items that NO OTHER Chinese place has! Florida STINKS for Chinese food...

HEY YOU GUYS, GOT ANY GOOD RECIPIES?

Back on thread, did I make a mistake here? I've wanted to get an Ampeg for a while, but I didn't need a big rig nor did have a lot of extra $$$.

I bought a B2R for $175.00 on Ebay. I usually check with the forum members before I buy something like this, but I've been watching them for a while and the price seemed good....

All I need to do now is pickup a LIGHT WEIGHT cabinet and I'm set to go! I HOPE.

What do you think? ANY good suggestions for an inexpensive lightweight cabinet that can handle a steady 100-150 watts?

I read an article from a St. Louis area newspaper that said production was moving to Vietnam. They interviewed an SLM employee who commented that last time he was in Vietnam, they were trying to kill him, and now they're taking his job. Sad...

I had a Japanese SVT for a while. It seemed fine, maybe slightly harsh sounding compared to the 70s ones I've had. But that could be tubes or biasing, etc.

Tony,

I have the newer B2RE that I use with a 1X15 and a 2X10 Ampeg cabinets. Great tone and very flexible with the two smaller cabs.
Here's a poor picture, but you get the idea.

the Portapotty cabs are light, but aren't inexpensive.

although the SF GC had a few for under $100 on a closeout.

Tony, The B2R is basically an SVT-3 Pro without the tubes. All SS. Kevin has the right idea - I wish I had gone that route.
