Too long for a mandolin, maybe a mandocello.

Maybe.

I've had two pink paisley Fender guitars and they were really cool. If I hadn't had some cool Rickenbackers it would have really depressed me to get rid of the last one (to a forumite here.)

I have to say that other than my SD Curlee, they were my favorite non-Rickenbacker electric guitars I have owned. I loved the finish and they were among the most playable Fenders I have ever touched.

Steve,

as hideous as some believe those basses are they are highly prized in certain circles. I would love to have the whole set. Bass, Strat and Tele in each color. They will be worth a fortune one day I suspect.

Good eye Paul! Actually I just gave away a few boxes of books (including the Arthur C.'s) as the old library was getting a bit crowded. I kept all of the music-related material of course!
Brian - these are the recent Japanese made models, so I don't know how valuable they might be in the future. I just think they're so weird that they're cool!

James Burton (Ricky Nelson's guitarist) made the pink paisley Tele famous when he was part of Elvis's band. Both the paisley and the flower power models were a product if the 60's culture/counter culture or at least Fender's take on it. The originals go for big bucks but they have made a ton of the reissues and if you can deal with the look, they are excellent guitars..many players will upgrade the electronics. Fender not letting any chance pass them by, issued a James Burton Signature Model...brown with gold paisley $$$.

Update: Package on its way from Tampa to San Fran. There shouldn't be any problems, since they deliver DOZENs and DOZENs of packages every hour.

Is anybody picking up on these clues?
