Does anyone have the definitive answer about that maple fretboard?

Is it merely a modification for a damaged original one or... gasp... fake.

From the various comments he's made about it, I don't think even Lemmy knows that. I expect John Hall might be the man to ask. I suspect probably a modification on someone's part rather than a faker.
