Alex is usually always to the far left, but by the sounds of those seats I'm sure you'll see it all! Great score. (Hmmmm...how far is VA from CA?) j/k

Congrats, mark.

I'm super pumped about seeing them again, I saw them in V.B. and Tampa on the 30th Aniversary tour, lets just say Tampa was very warm(sweltering)in July that year. I decided to skip Tampa this year since it's a week before the V.B. show and I really need to see my Mom since she turns 71 this year. This pic was taken in Va. Beach when I was 20 in 1979(Hemispheres!)

i loved rush up to and including power windows, but the new single sounds like everything else i have heard from them over the last 10 years.
i miss when rush were innovators and would branch out from album to album. they are just to formulaic for me now.

An interesting note on Geddy's equipment on the new album, Neil Pearts forthcoming programme notes have been published by the UK agents looking after the European tour:
http://www.noblepr.co.uk/Press_Releases/kennedy_street/images/rush_snakes_arrows/Rush%20bio%20-%20The%20Game%20of%20Snakes%20&%20Arrows%20-%20FINAL.pdf
Peart mentions Ged using a fretless bass, he's not specific on model but lets hope it's a RIC.
BTW, has anyone downloaded the FAR CRY single release MP3 off the US itunes site, we can't get it this side of the pond, be grateful of a e-mailed copy.

Hey Mark,
I'll be returning to my hometown to catch the show as well. Your seats are a lot better than mine, though. I'll be out on the lawn.

FWIW I got two tickets to see them in DC on 7/23, the venue was sold out in 20-25 minutes.

Yikes, that's quick! That's great that you got the tickets, John. I've got something special in the works for when they come to CA....we'll see if I can make it happen though!

I should've gotten an AMEX card when I had the chance. Tickets for the 2 Southern CA RUSH dates are on presale from the 9th to the 12 or 13th? of this month for AMEX card holders only. I can't wait! I'm going to go to both, somehow.
I don't know if it's just in CA, but have you noticed the incredible amount of promotion for this tour? It's going to be huge. Ads on radio and tv....ohhhh, I love it!

"I don't know if it's just in CA, but have you noticed the incredible amount of promotion for this tour?"
That usually means there is a lot of money riding on this tour and they are leaving nothing to chance. Sorry if that sounds negative, it isn't meant to. That fact takes nothing away from the performances. Or the anticipation.

How about some old Rush...The Camera Eye
Long song, if you're a bass player, queue it up at 9:15 and let it play out. Great part, great tone.

I'd love them to do The Camera Eye on the tour, as they only played it on the MP tour & half of it on the Signals one. However, I've heard that Geddy hates it.

Geddy hates that song? Awwwww, that's one of my favorite songs of theirs . . . ESPECIALLY the bass part . . . maybe Geddy hates it because it's massively demanding for synth, bass, and vocal duties simultaneously? It's such a good song though . . . some of their finest playing.

I was a huge Rush fan until whatever piece of **** came out after Moving Pictures, I guess I am still a huge Rush fan but, I haven't heard anything from them that I liked since Moving Pictures, and that album is not even close to my favorite Rush album ( Caress of steel,Hemispheres, fly by night, 2112, you get the idea ). I really had no high hopes for this new album, as I've long since given up on having high hopes for a new Rush album, and having heard two of the tracks now, it seems I am justified. I agree with whoever it was that said it sounded like the same Rush we've heard for the last ten years.
