I need to learn how to do my own setups and adjustments at home, but I like taking my basses in around once every six months or so (per bass) for their routine checkups. That's way more often than I get a checkup... but anyway, I like taking them in rather than doing it myself because the place I get them done (Wade's in Milwaukee) is a really cool shop and they always have something special hanging around for me to geek out over. If I learned how to do my own setups, I would miss this chance! Today I was geeking out on a 620 AFG and an 80 4001.

Unfortunatly I live in an area that is pretty thin on good luthiers. I'd love to find one in the Dayton Ohio area.

One thing I cant do is solder... my bad,,never learned how, what an as*. Huge handycap IMHO.
