For those who have been upset by the comments made in this post, please accept my apology for having this go on so long without my intervention. This is my role and I have been remiss in editing the thread. I missed it entirely, being preoccupied with work.
I have kept the thread as I consider it to be a good one for its technical merit. I am sensitive that others have offered important information, but some posts needed to be removed as some of the earlier edited comments made subsequent ones nonsensical.
The lessons in this thread transcend the technical, in my view. I want to encourage any questions about Rickenbackers no matter how rudimentary they may appear. It has been my goal to have others feel at home regardless of the rudimentary nature of their questions. At the end of the day, this was achieved here and hence I wanted to keep the thread.
As I have learned so often in wandering through the forest of everyday living, the woods would be a very quite place if was habited by only those birds that sang best or took flight gracefully.
For those of us lost in the forest, some may focus on the moss on the trees while others may take their bearings from the setting sun. Still others may follow the complex winding of a gentle stream.
The lesson for me is that the next time we go for a walk in the forest, let's take a compass and all leave together. For those who left quickly, please return. You will find us in the clearing waiting to help you out.
