Thanks everybody! I'm really stunned that anyone would even remember.

Years ago there was a very nice old lady that worked for my dad for maybe 30 years as the company bookkeeper. Every March 15th she'd tell me happy birthday but then remember to say it again on April 15th. I couldn't figure that out for years until we remembered that prior to 1955, tax day was March 15th. That's how she remembered my birthday and I'm afraid is usually the most memorable thing about it. Of course, this year we get a reprieve until April 17th!

Don't be stunned! You are a famous celebrity in this industry, so of course we all remember. If more of us lived nearer, we would have gotten together and made you a Rickenbacker-shaped birthday cake to drop off at the factory for you Image Watch out, we have an entire year now to plan such a stunt for next April 15th !!! Image

Happy Birthday once again, John, and many many more to come Image And thank you for the gift of your time and knowledge with which you grace us throughout the year. You are very important to all of us, your presence here is never underappreciated and you being here draws us all closer to you and to your RIC family - the makers of the instruments about which we are all so passionate Image Image

All the best to you, John. I hope you have a most enjoyable birthday. What did Ben get you? Perhaps a pair of socks or a new tie? Image

"If more of us lived nearer, we would have gotten together and made you a Rickenbacker-shaped birthday cake to drop off at the factory for you "

So would you have gone with a cake with the "OS" shape or does JH now qualify for the softer rounded look? Hmmm, adding binding would certainly be cost prohibitive. Just having fun. Seriously, Happy birthday and kind wishes from the east coast for many more.

Happy belated birthday wishes John.

It's a shame you can't make it to MARF II. We could have had a party in your honor. O well, maybe next time.
