Hell for Certain is a Leslie county community north of Hyden on Hell for Certain Creek. The name is also spelled Hell-Fer-Sartin.
Then there's Slapout, Oklahoma....they have a hospital there.
And Plainville, Kansas
Humansville, Peculiar, Tightwad, Useful, all in Missouri
Boring, Drain, Half.com, Idiotville, Zig Zag, and Fossil, Oregon

The funny thing is, no one knows for certain how Intercourse, PA got its name.
Screw publisher Al Goldstein (with his wry sense of humor I guess) had the newspaper mailed so that they would have an "Intercourse" postmark.
For some reason, most films and TV shows, when they want a funny-sounding town name often choose Poughkeepsie (New York) near where my wife happens to be from by the way.
Even music stars too. During banter between John and Cass at Monterey, Poughkeepsie was mentioned.

In Georgia, we have a town called "Between". It's a lot of fun to call someone and tell them you're in Between.

I went through there on my way from Springfield to Chicago on the train, Melibee..... didn't see anybody with two heads or three eyes, so I guess the place is aptly named!!
