Elizabeth II is not "slightly older" than our Emperor GBII. They are a full generation apart. She's around 80; he's around 60 (at least physically).

Can't comment on her innate intelligence; her son sure seems to be a Royal Twit, though.

And I will refrain from any comments on GBIII's innate vacuum. Reason: it's been done to death.

I have it on very good authority that the Queen is actually quite articulate and well schooled in all things necessary to maintain a monarchy. As a consequence, she is not and never will be interested in those things that amuse the common man or woman to any great degree. She is duty bound to her station in life and she looks upon her dual role as Head of State and Supreme Governor of The Church of England as her true time honoured missions in life. BTW, she is also the Head of the Commonwealth and Lord High Admiral as well. Pretty lofty positions in all, I would dare to say.

Yes she may have heard of EC et al somewhere and would perhaps be able to recall the details that reside in the deep recesses of her noble mind, but why should she, when she can demonstrate her obviously superior position to her loyal subjects by simply asking "and what do you do?"

Brian, amongst all ERII's roles, you omitted to mention she is also Queen of Australia.

I as a Brit think the Royal family are a joke these days. I do not however think the Queen is losing her marbles. I think she is still as sharp as a pin at 80 ! The same cannot be said for that bumbling Greek bloke who she married ! Her sons are laughable but it would seem her Grandsons have a little more about them. Lets hope whenever the throne is passed down that it bypasses her stuffy joke of a son and goes straight to William. He might give Royalty a bit more cred than it has at the moment. So we have our Jesters but we know you guys in the US have the biggest FOOL of all !
