I never would have guessed it without Roy's clues, and even then, just guessing. Not their sound at all. It sounded more like something from Jeff Lynne to me. The Wilburys would have done so well with this one, especially with Roy Orbison.
Pretty rocking tune from a guy born in 1909!

Great song, kinda like 'Twenty Flight Rock' phase 2.
There are a few versions of this on YouTube, some good, some not so good (Springsteen in the later category imho).
Looking at the various versions reminded me about something I've been pondering lately. Having just moved (to Oregon) I'm now band-less and will be trying to form or join something soon (even if it goes no farther than the garage, thats ok with me).
So..... excluding vocals, whats the most critical instrument in a band? Whats the one that will make or break a band's sound faster than any other?
I'm now thinking that the answer is DRUMS.
Example #1: Somewhat boring version by Wildwood Rockers. Why? The drummer is not all that bad but he just doesn't bring excitement to the song.

Example #2: Exciting version by Miami & The Groovers. Why? The guys in the front row aren't super musicians at all, but the drummer makes this version exciting.... he pushes it instead of just laying back.

Which also brings up another issue altogether: was Pete Best a better drummer than Ringo for this very reason? Ringo may have been a 'better Beatle' than Pete, but I think Pete Best's Atomic Beat drumming was great and more exciting than Ringo's no matter what George Martin says. But thats another story.
Finally... does anyone know an exciting drummer in the Corvallis Oregon area who wants to play 50's 60's stuff? Old Fart Blast-from-the-Past 50+ers (like me) welcome
