Well I made up the second part of it, Help I'm a Rock is a real song from The Mother's of Invention first Album, Frank Zappa's first band. Sounds like something he would have written though doesn't it? I was poking a little fun at some of the posts, gotta keep it light.

Albinoni Adagio in G Minor

Have you heard Renaissance's version of it? It is called 'Cold Is Being' on Turn Of The Card.

Other than that, most anything by Renaissance does the job for me. Image

I would like to second They Might Be Giants, but my current #1 happy music is either Belle & Sebastian or Sparks. With Sparks, its gotta be something from Propaganda or the new one, Hello Young Lovers (Plenty of Ric bass on the video for "Dick Around"). Check the link below.

Sorry, I would rather have commercials than those incessant 15 - 20 minute "begs" from PBS here in La. And, it's not ALL intelligent either.

Yeah, they've been around since the 70s. If you're interested in Sparks, I suggest you check out "Propaganda", "Kimono My House", and the new one "Hello Young Lovers". They are all great albums. They are strange and they make me smile.

"And, (PBS)'s not ALL intelligent either..."

I'll grant you that, Charlie...remember Tucker Carlson, the spokesman for the Prep School set? Sharp as a bowling ball, that boy...

And what about Andre Rieu, the Fiddling Fop of Austria? Man, who tunes in to hear that tripe? I didn't think it was possible to sink any lower than 'Riverdance', but how wrong I was...

That being said, Bill Moyers mops the floor with Tony Snow...I can't believe those two could have anything approaching 'similar' on their resumes...

Okay, back to the thread...anything on "Pure Guava" by Ween...

My nominee for the lamest performer recently featured on PBS is Daniel O'Donnell, the lousy Irish pop singer. I'd rather watch Riverdance, Lord of The Dance, Wayne Newton, or Lawrence Welk re-runs. You'd have to put me in a straight jacket and use those eyelid locks from 'A Clockwork Orange' to make me watch this guy!

And when did Bill Moyers become a bitter America-hating whiner? I remember him when he pretended to be a thoughtful objective journalist. Now he just peddles propaganda and partisan half-truths on PBS. It must suck to be him, because he sure sounds miserable to me.

PS - I agree completely about Andre Rieu. Where does PBS find these guys?

"Ya, and y'all probably watch PBS!

In case that is not clear, there are many more who profess to watch, than actually do. Methinks it is that way with these tunes with the long foreign names!"

Here's evidence of my aforementioned titles, if that's necessary:

I thought we were having a civilized discussion about personal tastes.
I sincerely hope I've taught my children to behave better than that!

Please don't do that Kevin. I'm serious.
