TI Jazz Flats will be less tension and smaller diameter. And they will thump.

I see the TI's for about $46. These strings seem to get rave reviews as far as flats go.

They say shortscale 32", and I'm guessing that means 32" max. I'm thinking that these will be ok for a 30" shortscale?

and I see Pyramids for over $70

Kent, I have not played either, but John Hall said the TIs come the closest to the old Rickenbacker/Maxima flats and I do have those and they are a great set of strings.

The Pyramids will be a lot higher in tension.

During the Let It Be sessions he was using black tapewound Rotosound Trubass strings. Before that, I think they were Pyramids. There was an article in Bassplayer magazine about two years ago where Paul's tech told what strings he uses now. Someone will remember.
