The BIG one, eh? Wonder if I could sneak over for that one!!

It was a Syrah. Longboard Vineyards was started several years ago by Oded, a surfer cum winemaker from Israel. I sold him a couple of boards back then that hang now in his tasting room. He also makes a great sparkling wine under the brand name J's as he is associated with the Jordan Winery. The bottle was nine years old with tons for fruit both at the nose and the mouth and very very mild tannins which takes a LONG time for a Syrah to achieve...in case you're wondering by now yes, I used to be a wine broker! I talked with Oded today..told him we loved the wine and talked about getting together with North Of Malibu to do a gig at his business (seeing as he plays Dick Dale on the house cd player seemed like a good idea to me) he agreed and we hope to have that up in the near future. It was a fun party and even though I've seen it prior, I'm jealous of Paul's stereo system!
