That burst pattern makes it look like it is lit behind the guard. Neat. But you needed a cabinet!
What about borrowing one from a friend until you figure out the financing?

I had owned one in the past and loved it - I only sold it during a time a few years back where I was barely playing any bass.
I was playing some of the funkier disco-type stuff in my bands repetoire on it, and I couldn't believe not only how perfect the sound was, but how perfect the scale length was as well - the strings were just perfectly taut for that style of playing. Also, by cranking the treble on the preamp a bit and playing muted with a pick, I was also able to get VERY close to a Carol Kaye-type tone, or like Entwistle's super-percussive tone on "Happy Jack" or "Tommy Can You Hear Me".
I found a reasonably priced used one in the same blue sparkle burst color my old one was, at Cowtown Guitars in Nevada, and went ahead an ordered it. Will be splitting time at my gig this weekend between it and the v68, all while in a gorilla suit!
My old one, which now belongs to a forumite:

I hope that means you'll be playing in the gorilla suit!

chiming in a bit late(as usual for me),markbass, john, markbass! over the years i have used tube amps (sunn),hybrid (ampeg svt-3,music man,mesa-boogie) solid state (G-K) these are just the ones i remember...anyhoo,the markbass blows me away with it's clarity, power and simple yet effective tone shaping controls. i have the 1-12 mini combo and it is loud enough for most situations on its own. if i were to do it over, i probably would buy the little mark head, and a pair of schroeder 1-12 cabinets. (oh that's another new thing for me-i've used 10's and 15's in different configs-12's are my new fave!) the thing about the markbass is it really brings out the actual sound of whatever instrument you play through it-my humbucking equipped basses have more clarity/definition than ever before-the cii sounds grreat throught it.

Considering
this Orange 4x10 cab. The last Orange guitar cabinet I had was absolutely killer - built like a tank and the best sounding guitar cab I ever played through.

oooo-i like the orange cab with the(orange-scheme) markbass! the little mark amp is the same one that is in the combo i have. it might look a bit strange for that little ol' head sitting on that big cabinet, but that combination should sound mighty mighty.

The only problem with using an Orange guitar cabinet is that it's most likely 16 ohms. The LMII is rated at 300 watts into 8 ohms, 500 watts into 4. You'll only be getting what 150-200 watts out of it.

That one's actually a bass cabinet.

That Orange 4 x 10 bass cab is an 8 ohm cab. So the LM II will put 300w into it. FYI
It also weighs 43 kg, about 95 lbs.!!! More than my Ampeg 410HLF!

My Ampeg PortaBass 2x12 weighs only 38lbs. while my PortaBass 2x10 cab weighs 32lbs. Each cab handles 400 watts.

A few that have caught my eye:
-
Nemesis NSP410 - 50 lbs., $659 new.
-
Ashdown ABM 414T 4X10 - 79 lbs., $699
-
Markbass Standard 104HF - 66lbs., not sure of price.
-
Markbass Standard 104HR - 56 lbs., not sure of price.
The only difference between the two Markbass cabs I linked to appears to be that the first is ported and therefore a bit heavier. Anyone wanna explain this "ported" business to me briefly? I am leaning towards this one BTW, even though i know it'll be a tad pricier then the others I posted.
Dane, MF doesn't have the PortaBass cabs, are they still available?

John, the PortaBass cabs are all discontinued now. They show up on Ebay as used oven new old stock at dealers quite often. I picked up one of my 2x12's as NOS for $406.00 shipped and my 2x10 for a bit less(don't remember). My keyboardist likes my stuff so much, he picked up a pair of the 1x12's with the horn for about $500.00. The other cabs have horns with L pads too.
