GC has a 30 day return policy so I think they will see you as meaning business and give you back some green.

Nice find on the Ampeg and the 4003! I'm sooo glad my G/F doesn't care when I buy new gear and even helps me out if need be!

A 1990 4003 into that great old Ampeg is pure heaven. Sell the rest of your stuff, keep these two, and go back to bed with your wife!

I live in Nashville also and I think that you are cool with either one. The 79 will have more value because of its age and the 1990 will be a better player. If you are not sure, PM me and I can check out the basses for you and see if I can get some of the spots out of the neck....

I'd buy NOS or used US Ampeg, made but I'd never support their decision to terminate American jobs in favor of $$. That's not to say the Vietnamese can't built an amp, it's just that whenever possible, I like my money to stay here. Who here would buy a Rickenbacker made in Asia?

get used to it dude. it's one world now. looking at the US as an island (or a symbol of quality) is an industrial revolution frame of mind. a new day has dawned, and it is what it is, for better or worse.
