I knew I had seen that guitar before.
Here's a photo from Björn Eriksson's Rickbeat site.

I'd have to say that out of all of the Rickenbackers I've owned, my dream Rick is still my first one.

My '79 4001 LH, owned for 27 years now..the black 'guard and TRC are additions I made not long ago, the original white ones kept in the goodie drawer.

This was the ONLY Rickenbacker to have when I was growing up, still does it for me after all the years. LOVE to play it.

I forgot about the Capri models; I'd like to have one of the Deluxe Capri models with the triangle inlays, with body and neck binding.

Seriously speaking, I think that's quite commendable. I often long for the days when folks dressed nicely rather than competing to see who could look the most ragamuffin.

My group likes to wear suits-not every time, but it's something we have a reputation for. Our drummer never wears a tie though. I don't know how drummers did it wearing suits in the old days, but I think that every shot I've seen of a drummer wearing a suit an playing, the drummer is completely soaked through with perspiration! A few shots of Gene Krupa playing with Benny Goodman come to mind. I guess the Beatles had the right idea with black suits-it hides the sweat. Hmm, maybe swamp cooler with the fan on high and blowing straight at the drummer would help-he's probably need goggles though.

There were 2 green experiments that were done. Richard posted one,I posted the other.

The one I posted is one that I affectionately nicknamed "Greenie". The good folks here at RIC graciously loaned me that one in order to learn how to play. Since I'm a total hack,it doesn't matter that the neck is badly out of whack! (which is the reason it became a color experiment guitar) My friend who is nice enough to teach me actually said that learning on that 12 string will make it easier for me to play a 6. I gotta tell ya,after a workout with Greenie,my hand and wrist is so sore that I wish I'd taken up the bass!

Eric: These finishes are very unique. I am not sure I have every seen a finish like either of these. Is there any chance that RIC may use them?

Did RIC give this experimental Green color a name?

Is this an official promotional photo btw? That's a really cool finish; XGreen on a 360/12C63.

Hey, maybe they could call it XGreen! Nah, they'd want to call it some sort of burst.

The pics are completely unofficial, and totally unconnected with RIC. My friend was doing a modeling shoot, and wanted a really nice guitar to compliment the shoot. She actually is quite the guitarist herself, but her beat up pink Danelectro wasn't going to cut it. So,I showed up with Greenie, and the shutters were a clickin'..There ARE some great shots that would make some nice ads though ;-)

There is always a chance that we may do some one off stuff to possibly place on our RIC Outlet site. Having said that,I highly doubt that the green finish on that 360/12C63 will become a RIC staple.

What's the finish called, what's it called what's it called? :D

Will you one off sell the XGreen C63?

I guess we'll have to wait for some 360/12C63s to show up for sale somewhere in worn out enough condition to merit a refinish

The finish doesn't have a name,it was just an experiment. And no,it won't be sold. Check the RIC Outlet in the near future, there will be some interesting things to see.

The finish doesn't have a name...
Since it appears to be based in part on a forest green, might I suggest the it be called Forestglo,
