I'll buy you a REAL boat anchor! Hey, come to think of it, I still have my IBM clone 286 PC down the basement somewhere! It has two 48MB hard drives in it.

Two questions;

1) How many millimeters should the toaster pu be under the strings?

2) Is the v63 still in production?

Cheers, love your vids on youtube!
Do you still have the "yours is no disgrace" video? Can't find it on youtube anymore.

When was the last year that the v63's were in production?

2001 or 2002 was the last year for the V63.

thanks for appreciation

I usually remove my videos from the tube after a month or two, that's why you could not find it anymore :)

What kind of push pull POTENTIOMETER should I get to do the push pull mod? 250K,330K or 500K?
Jeff Rath?? 8)

I know I could buy them from ricpage.com, but I wanna buy them in my own country, thats quicker and cheaper.

Anyone?

RIC uses a 500k pot with the push pull.

Really John? If so, that's probably why I prefer the tone from my 2006 4003 over my '94 4003 (250K pots).

I thought RIC was using 330 ohm pots on today's 4003.

:?

They do, but the treble tone control is a 500k pot and a push/pull switch on one control.

Im going to do the Vintage tone control mod to my v63, but I would like it the other way around. So engage the circuit when it's "pressed it" and while pulled that the cap is out of the circuit.
What do I need to change in this scheme to make that work?

In that diagram, in the upper right of the diagram, on the back of the treble tone control R4, the lower row of switch contacts have no wire on the bottom left, a red wire on the bottom center, and a red wire on the bottom right. Just move the red wire from the bottom right to the bottom left. This will reverse the action of the circuit.

By the way, this circuit does not actually switch the cap in and out of the circuit. The cap is always wired into the circuit. What the switch does is either short out the cap or not short it out.

That's probably what I meant, but I'm not a native English speaker. Apologies :)

Elys, JH did it that way so as not to have a "pop" when the cap switches in or out.

The push/pull pot doesn't fit in the control cavity. It wasn't too bad if I found out before soldering all the wires:? It all works correctly now, but the pot is too high.
Anyone else experienced this difficulty??

Could someone please measure the height of their control cavity??
From mine V63 it is about one inch (26 millimeters).
