I was not there during the recordings of Sgt Peppers

No matter what my ears say or my basses (hofner or stringmuted rickenbackers V63 - C64S) are able to produce, I would say it is a rickenbacker, at least for historical reasons
I don't think he even brought the hofner in studio between the end of revolver sessions and the filming of Revolution clip (where he uses the old cavern bass)
oh yeah the hofner appears in Penny Lane video, but also in this case I guess it was just for "iconic" reasons, related to the Beatlepaul image

I should experiment more with my Rics then. I'd like to be able to make that noise and I don't own a Hofner since 1976 :wink:

Anyone see this? And can our Brit members confirm or dispel this? No news of it over here. I heard it on XM and found British sources, but I don't know the reps of the sources.

Thanks Mark, I hadn't seen that thread and this was the first I'd heard of Paul's heart condition. Can't accuse me of being on top of things now, can we?! :roll:
