Those HS's do look a little off for RI's, but I'd be very surprised if they were 60's originals.

I thought some of the first V63s had magnetic shoes. Oh wait, wasn't that from the early 80s when the V63s were introduced? I'd still like to hear from John as to pole pieces and if the shoes hold steel.wints wrote:Those HS's do look a little off for RI's, but I'd be very surprised if they were 60's originals.
The picture is misleading, so I could see why you would think that they look like old ones. This is most definitely a RIHS, the pole pieces are rods.johnallg wrote:Thanks John. As to the uncapped HS pickups, I too found I liked my RIHS uncapped. Also true with the '75 high gain bridge pup - I have the cap switch on it but find I use/prefer it cap out. With the switch, you can hear how Ricks go a rep for thin trebly sound.
John, I just looked at the closeup of the body on the V63. It looks like the shoes are not shaped like the RIHS shoes on mine. Is it possible your shoes are magnetic and the old ones?? Are the pole pieces magnet rods or screws? Does a piece of steel stick to the shoes?

Oooooo, the pics of my 4004C are active now! I added them right after you posted it was possible. Just had a chance to look.gibsonlp wrote:Guys!
Please upload your guitar photos to the register. You may (should) upload them in high quality, we would like to get as many instrument pictures as possible.
