It depends on what I'm hoping to achieve sonically. If I'm going for something clean, defintely the AC-30HW. Something that NEEDS to be loud and ballsy...'59 Bassman RI.

Sorry I can't just name one as it all depends what I am playing.

For lead: a pair of 212 Peavey Stereo Chorus amps

For bass: a Sunn Model T head and a Behringer 810 Bass cab.

For rhythm: a Fender Twin.

For keyboards a Sunn Model T head and a Sunn 610 Bottom.

Obviously if I still played out I would need a large truck and a few strong roadies. Wait, I have the large truck..........

That you do, Brian, but I reckon you'll have to modify the house so you can get the truck on to the lower balcony! Can't see you lugging it all upstairs............ my back aches just thinking about it!!

As always Brian, it's the roadies that are hard to come by!! (You want me to carry all that WHERE???)

I need that crew too. Depending on where we play, I'll use a Vox AD120VTH head with one or two AD212 bottoms, and/or a Tonelab desktop mounted in an Atomic Reactor AR112-50, both controled by a VC-12 controller, signal split through a Radial ABY box. Most times it's the AD120VTH and one AD212 or the Atomic/Tonelab for small gigs.

My '73 silverface has the original Fender label speaker, which was probably an Emminence. My '65 re-issue has the factory Italian Jensen 12.

Goofyfoot, the Jensen is ceramic, I believe. I also misspelled "Eminence" in my last post. Sorry about that, I stuck an extra "m" in there like M&M's. : )

Dean a long time ago in a distant galaxy, several light years from here, I used to have two roadies that helped out the band and strangely enough they worked for peanuts (and loads of beer).........................but I digress.

I agree Aitch, I had a hard enough time getting that lot down the stairs into my band room. They'll have to stay where they are until the day the kids either put me in an old age home or in a box in the ground.

'64 Fender Deluxe Reverb w/ a '65 Jensen C12NA ceramic speaker was my "go-to" amp until recently. While it's in the shop, I'm using a '72 Traynor YBA1A MkII for both bass and guitar. It's very much like a Tweed Bassman or Marshall Plexi, just not as sweet as the Deluxe.

For larger stages, I mic my amp through the PA. No need to carry monster amps anymore.

For surfwerk, it's the blonde Fender Dual Showman with original JBL 15s, and an outboard reissue blonde Fender reverb...which was my dream rig at age 16 when all this stuff was new...

I just picked up an incredible SS vintage amp, a Baldwin single 12", two-channel with SuperSound and those cool pushbuttons. This amp can make a Rick jangle or growl, depending on tone settings, and the pushbutton presets are VERY neat. This amp is the same one that Willie Nelson favors.
