Rick - that is the original HS that came in the bass - no alterations. Note the screw tops.

Just the way HS pickups should look like. More functional, too.

Basses are made to be played ... take that sucker out to a gig, wear a big old belt buckle, bang the headstock a few times, and have some fun.

If your shoes line up, they are usually not originals!

Ah yes, the beautiful asymmetry!

When I first read your post, Andy W., I was trying in my addled brain to make a connection between blood and beer and shoes lining up, and I ended up with weird images of brawls at punk clubs and trying to find the culprits by checking their Docs for "evidence"! Need caffeine.... :)

On the topic of the V63, I scored mine in December 2007. I bought it from a fellow Rickresource member (lLeftyguitars). He was great to deal with. It's a mint 1996 V63 (MG). I am so impressed with this bass it's crazy. Forget about how gorgeous it looks, but it stays in tune forever, has no dead spots, no rattles, no buzz, and the neck is staying nice and straight. I couldn't be more leased.
