+1 for Chicago. They were my first favorite band as a youth and first concert I ever saw, and that was around the time of Chicago VI. "If You Leave Me Now" was the turning (my stomach) point for me.
I really appreciate Pete Cetera as a bassist on the early CTA stuff and up through the Live @ Carnegie album. Also, Terry Kath remains one of my all time favorite guitar players (so underrated!).

Oddly, looking at another thread here led me to an RIP Musicians page, where I found Terry Kath. I mentioned in my previous post where CTA jumped the shark for me and I can't believe this page associates that song with Kath, of all the great playing he did...
Terry Kath - Died 1-23-78 - Accidental self inflicted gun shot ( Rock ) Born 1-31-1946 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. - Was a guitarist for Chicago (They did,"If You Leave Me Now").

Cheap Trick will never live down "the Flame." It is every bit as terrible as Starship at their worst.

I disagree. This band always wanted to experiment with all sorts of music, some as parody and some serious. They wanted to prove they could do anything. And this is the band the was banned from my hometown because Mike stuck a mic up his behind. I bet he still would. WHILE doing this song. Just to prove you wrong.
K, prove my opinion wrong.
I'm not, I said Mike would.

The Monkees did the same thing as later Jefferson Starship: they got '80s gear and played ****** '80s music. Although in some of the music from that time (not the videos posted here) Grace's voice still stands out, and she has a great voice, too bad the music wasn't as good.
