Well, a couple of easy ones.
Jeffrey Hyman and John Cummings.

Shhena,

Given your oft-stated devotion to a pioneering New York punk band, I'd guess they are Ramones. Joey and Johnny?

Yes.

Elvis Costello and Sting

How about John Graham Mellor, John Simon Ritchie, John Wardle or Eric Boucher.
Ok, some slightly harder ones, in order of difficulty:

David Robert Jones
Jim Heath
The Reverend Richard Wayne Penniman
Susan Janet Ballion
Graham McPherson
Ernest Evans
Joseph Saddler

John Denver of course. My wife met him quite a few years ago when he walked into her shop here in Canada. Seems he was a pretty normal guy.

Bo Diddley?

And well done on Chubby Checker, Brian!

The rest are:

David Robert Jones = David Bowie
Jim Heath = The Reverend Horton Heat
Susan Janet Ballion = Siouxsie Sioux
Graham McPherson = Suggs (Lead singer of Madness)
Joseph Saddler = Grandmaster Flash
