I would love white with white binding. Very classy in combination with a toaster..

$4000 is a bit much don't you think?????? The last DCM on eBay didn't sell for less than that.

Yeah, but it is a rare 4001 4003!

Yep you got it right ... the people on this forum are great ... you all put up with my rants ... I sometimes exaggerate to make a point ...

But with my nice collection of 14 basses I could sell my 6 Rics and still be just fine ... there are plenty of low b strings around here ...

I am looking to build a few more basses ... one that I am working on is to someday build a 5 string Entwistle Exploiter bass ... and a few other projects ...

And I must admit I strongly dislike most of the COY colors ...

And if I had to keep just one Ric bass it would be this one here ...

Certainly is lighter in physical weight, no? Even with the extra string on it!

Yep that 4004ci is a very light and very comfortable bass ... the neck is really sweet and the oil finish makes a nice mid growl ...

hey how about oil finish as a COY?

That Sea Green 4003 on the eBay auction went to me, and after I get home, I'll post pictures of it. Bob Young sold it to me back last April/May. If you have the RRF calendar, it's the April "playmate."

Blueburst makes my knees go weak. Echoing what Marc said, I didn't really get the RAS for it until it was discontinued and no longer readily available. 'Course a 4003 BBR isn't exactly in my budget right now anyway, but it's fun drooling.... :P

For $4000 I would want 3 or 4 4001/4003 basses

to me a pretty coat of paint does not double or triple the value of a bass. The pretty paint doesn't make it sound or play better.
