There's also nothing wrong with being a collector of historical artifacts IMO. I have quite a few bits in my "war room" that, I suppose by some, could be seen as distateful but they round out my WWi and WWII collection.

The accomplishments Hitler made as a maniac set on taking over the world and his "final solution" are something that should not be forgotten and his successes on the battlefield were impressive.......I view it as more a nut with a single minded drive to dominate the world and impose his warped views but it could be expressed as "unshakable ******* faith" as well I suppose. Whether he should have said "get over it" is debatable but there is something to be said for remembering the past but also moving on and not dwelling too much as well. It's only his opinion and doesn't seem too damning to me.

I remember a similar thread path being taken when the LK's started rolling out. Something about the "acorn and oak leaf" being Nazi symbols. I thought it was a tribute to cuckoo clocks.......who knew? (I love my LK anyway BTW)

But you're exatly right. I wish I had Hitler's drive for what I want to do. he was obsessed with something evil, and he was determined to get it done. The evil was.. well evil.. but his determination was incredible.

I agree with Brian about the battlefield too. Man was a genius (minus attacking the then USSR).

Well, just USSR might have been bearable.....the problem was too many fronts at once spread his forces to thin. Plus the heinous Siberian winters and dwindling supply lines sealed the deal.

I would think so. When you realize that much of the world sees the US as the biggest threat to world peace, it's not hard to see the similarities. Unlike Nazi Germany, the US has practically unlimited power and for the time being, resources to do as it wants to in the world. Fortuantely, many of the similarities will end after the upcoming election....I hope.

This could quickly turn political (or maybe it has) but I'm seeing more and more that reg'lar folks just don't want to know anymore. This is the kind of vulnerability that we don't want. I'd rather see a Howard Beale "mad as hell" attitude; it would have saved us trillions of our own money and many lives.

Wow Paul, it's insane how poignant that clip is right now. It is incredibly frustrating and troubling that the vast majority of people don't seem aware enough to be "mad as hell".

I think many people are mad as hell but feel usless in this day and age of Polictical correctness that we are laying down and seeing what happens next....

Oh yeah. Big mistake doin it all at once. he shoulda kept the Soviets thinking they were friends for longer. Oh wait.. no.. then we'd all be nazi's and all my fav actresses wouldn't be around (they're pretty much all jewish).
