Are you running all those cabinets of the 850?

Hi Sean,

if you ever think of downsizing, keep in mind, if you change your stacks to e.g. Markbass you also have to exchange your blue Rick for another colour matching the speaker cones!? Also the MG Rick does not quite fit!

I think you still have room for a Hiwatt 4X15 cab at the side!
I nearly bought one from a shop in Denmark St London in the 70s, couldnt get it in the back of the Cortina estate car and got a Fender 4X12 instead...shame because it was an outrageous cab!
Its ok guys using the PA for projection and having a combo, but I think the larger rigs give you a good spread onstage and for the audience just out front where the PA is off axis too.Dont downsize..excersise!

Yes. If I am only running two 4x10 cabs (which is my normal setup), then it's fine.

Well, shoot....may as well add a little more weight to the rig. Another 850 and split the signal from the RBI.

That's what I was going to suggest after reading Sean's post.

Are there 2 outputs in the back of the RBI? It would make more sense to replace the 850 with the 1450 then to add another amp. One amp vs 2, yes?

On the RBI you have the balanced output and the unbalanced output (effected and uneffected each have those two for a total of four outputs). You could run one to one 850 and the other to the other 850. I use either (depending upon whether someone wants a line to the p.a. or not) and have noticed no difference in performance between the two.

I guess it all just depends upon the power needs of the cabinets versus what a 1450 can deliver.

I'll just keep it simple and go with one amp with more power. i don't wanna hafta buy a new rack.
