If you can see the forum, it's working.

Probably another 30 minutes to go on a RAID rebuild- all brand new drives! There will be one more outage this week and that should be it.

And not to put too fine a point on it, the web server has been up continuously for more than a year. History, PDF's, etc. all still functioning, it's only the SQL server portion that's been inop for periods at a time.

Is it just me or was this site down for about 8 hours again?

Yes, apparently 1and1 are in a contest with rickenbacker.com's forum to see who's down for more hours before May 2008 ends...
For now - rickenbacker.com is in the lead (1and1 were able to provide only 6+2+8 hours of downtime), But Rickenbacker had only their database down, so it was indeed a full downtime for their forum - but a partial downtime for their site.
All 1and1 need to do is to take advantage for the fact that there is still 1 day left on May and cut the wires for the network or the power for 1 day... :|

I am looking for a new host...
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Glad to see this site back up. Last night I had a heckuva time getting on. I thought I was going to have withdrawal symptoms. I think I must be coming down with something.
