Thanks, Bill. I see that you also have a 1996. Do you find that they sound slightly different? Mine sound similar, but not absolutely identical. I have modern Pyramid 13 nickle flats on the 1996 and vintage 60's Pyramid steel/chrome flats on the c64.

You're not imagining it Mike--mine sound slightly different too. I'm nowhere near being a technical guy, or even very tonally astute, but there's a difference I can detect as well. Maybe the f hole? Some of it I'm sure can be attributed to the differences between any two guitars (variations in the wood, finish etc..). The necks also feel different to me--I didn't realize until after I got the c64 (I got the 1996 first) that they have different crown radii--7.5" and 10", respectively, according to the Ric site. FWIW, I have identical strings on mine, the T-I Flat 12s.

Does Anybody Know the Waiting time For a new c64? with the Vibrato?

Dunno about the wait time but the Vibrato is standard issue for these guitars. Wait time all depends upon where you are in the line waiting for one.

Matt's probably captured the "wait time" question as about as well as it can be captured. Dealers will only be able to give you an estimate, but it's not carved in stone. In my experience, the estimated from the small dealers are a lot more reliable than the estimates for the big warehouse places, but YMMV.

FWIW, my wait times on new 325s ranged from about 7 months for my JG 325c58, 8 months for my 1996, and 12 months for my 325c64. My c64 was the most recent purchase, I received her last Oct or Nov (I think).

So as Matt said, you get your name in a queue, usually with a deposit, and wait till Ric opens the spigot. Sometimes you can move up faster than you anticipate, as people's situations change over time, they may change their mind about the guitar, found one used somewhere else, etc..

FWIW, when I decided to buy a 325c64, I only had to wait about a month before one became available at an online store.

As the saying goes, "timing's everything!". I seem to recall a few months back Musicians Friend got a batch of them in that were apparently unspoken for...but they didn't last long!

I have to confess that I've never been a massive fan of the look of this model, but......

This guitar has to be one of the best looking I have ever seen.

Amazing.

Yep. Got me one too...redid it in '05. It has the proper toasters, now, too.

There's something about those early 325s with the two-knob setups that's reall charming...so minimal...

That is brilliant.

And I bet it plays and sounds like a dream too.
