"Dates on the pots"? You should be able to find those on the sides of the pot casings.

Andy, wouldn't that be more probable on a low production year than a high production year? Any models that turned up would, by low production amounts, be close in serial numbers. So it seems to me.wints wrote:Three basses within 13 numbers. That's pretty cool, considering the low volume produced for this period, and the potential survival rate of these basses.
All the pots ARE dated to 68. I don't have pictures of the dates, but I checked them out, and they're legit. The only electronics changed are the leads from the bridge pickup. The previous owner had a jazz bass pickup in the bridge (idiot....why....) but obviously kept the original, and that's back in it now.rickcrazy wrote:"Dates on the pots"? That is, of course, right John. Actually my math was wrong there as the bass that mentioned was 13 from mine, not the one for sale. There are some pretty high serial numbers in the 68 year, and not too many basses, and that's what caught my original train of thought.johnallg wrote:Andy, wouldn't that be more probable on a low production year than a high production year? That was my though, Andy - with a smaller pool to draw from, chances were good instruments turning up would be close in numbers. Oh, and I did know you meant the other bass.wints wrote:That is, of course, right John. Actually my math was wrong there as the bass that mentioned was 13 from mine, not the one for sale.
