Done, Aitch. I'm ordering up a gallon tomorrow...

Brian, I have a strange little hot-rodded Duo Sonic that I built back in '05 with a Sherwood Green...everything...guard, fretboard, neck, body, etc. It's got a Strat neck. I'll post pics sometime. I lurv Sherwood and the more offbeat custom colors.

I just built a licensed Strat. At least I think that is what you call it. It has a MIM body, Warmouth bird's eye maple neck, etc, etc. I thought I would like it, but I can't stand playing it. I guess I have been playing acoustic for so long, that Gibson necks are the ones that fell good. I could play my Dot Studio all night long..... I still say one of the prettiest guitars I have ever seen was a Natural Ash Strat, bird's eye neck, and a tortoise pick guard. Mine has the looks I crave, but not the feel........


Anyways congrats Paul! Oh, one more minor "dig"..... Clapton lost his tone when he switched to Fender! (ducks and runs!)

Cooooooooool Strat Paul! Leo did so much that was brilliant, apart from selling out to CBS, which was still right for him, just not for guitar folk like us. If I won the lottery, I'd be after one of those puppies in a flash.

Having done both, and having a life and house on two continents, I can say that it's much easier to move within my neighborhood, Evan.

I find I'm always prepared for the worst when moving continents, so by definition the move goes swimmingly compared to my expectations. Conversely, I always think it will be a piece of cake when making a short move, which leads to massive psychological trauma when even small things goes pear-shaped. Of course, the typhoon that accompanied our last short move may have coloured my thinking.

Congrats on the Strat, and also on the move--you are very blessed to be able to move right now, with the real estate market being what it is.... We've been trying to sell our house for over a year with no bites, even after dropping our price substantially....

Although prices have dropped everywhere else in the country including SoCal, the North Bay where we live has seen little devaluation, if any. A lot of properties up for sale and it all sells very rapidly. It's the old "location, location, location" thing.

And a fine "location, location, location" it is!!!

I see the golf course runs sort of north-south, Paul.... are you on the east or west side? Have you a practice mat on a balcony overlooking the course so I can work on my swing? I'll bring the club and balls...........

On second thought, is the 19th Hole big enough for a North Bay Confluence?

Congrats Paul, she looks like a pretty little Strat! I never played a 50th--what neck profile did they use on that guitar?

I like Strats quite a bit, there are currently 4 in my music room---my favorite, an Am Dlx V Neck in honey blonde, a CIJ '57 RI in sonic blue that's been refitted with Fender Vin Noiseless p/ups and 5 way switch, a Classic 60s in burgundy mist, and a Squier Standard in Cherryburst. Interestingly, they're all unique instruments...from time to time I put one or more of the latter three up for sale, as I really love that Am Dlx V, but I don't try too hard to sell.

West side. I'm sure those plunkers down on the second tee would love to duck your, er, balls, er, Aitch...

Bill, nearest George and I can figure, it's between a "C" and a "D". The days of non-custom shop distinct profiles have given way to one-size-fits-all, it seems.

I remember when I was first getting a Jaguar and I was playing around with a Sherwood Green '62 Jazzmaster RI. I should have gotten that one while it was still available. Easily one of the sharpest colors for a Fender.

It's a nine-hole quickie, Richard. Just a wee bit o' fun. Club house about the size of a two-car garage.
