Looks like mine has more black than Brian's now.... ...... mine has the "outlaw" five string conversion though......
( I swear that's why RIC put that extra wood there in the headstock!)

Mark, that Outlaw 5 string 4004 is one of the coolest 5 stings I've ever seen.

I think the 4004 is a "sleeper" in a lot of ways.

I'm seriously considering the VVT mod just from what I've read posted here.

I already have three of these in hand. Actually, they are sitting on my monitor base and have been for about 3 months.

Mine have a slightly more BLUE hue to them, I thought they would look cool on the BBT.

If I really get nutty, making it a fretless isn't out of the question either.

Either way, all are reversible.

If the preamp makes the bass more useful Brian, go for it!

I think the flames were tastfully done, I really like the way they blend with the color of the bass.

By the way....ANYONE ever heard of, or tried this MODBOARD thing?

Just as a footnote......I had to work to get the flames to show up in the pics.....it still looks the same until the light hits it just right. It's groing on me even more.

I appreciate any performance or sporty car for what they are....from "riced" up imports to high-end exotics. I just love cars in general. The fun part is spanking someone with an attitude that paid big bucks for the new Hemi or Z06. Usually they have no clue what a GN is and get real upset when they find out it's "only" a 6 cylinder that's 21 years old.

My car ran fantastic at the track. It pulled strong and didn't miss a beat. I actually ran slower times than last year last night.....still no traction. With any boost I was smoking the tires off the line and then braking them loose again at the shift to second gear. Oh well, it has plenty of power but not enough grip to hold it. I can't see shoveling too much more $$$$ into it for the suspension mods necessary to get the traction so it'll just stay as it is for the time being and instead of constantly working on it I'm just going to enjoy it for the rest of the Summer/Fall.

You'd have to see if the spacing is right for the 4004. I'd try it if it was cheap enough but I wouldn't have much confidence in the sound quality of the effects.

It would be wrong AND illegal to drive in an irresponsible manner on public roads.
I could bring it but it would just be sitting in the hotel parking lot during the festivities and I don't like to leave it unattended for very long. I'm just a tad paranoid and "it's better safe than sorry". I'll see what the jam-night or dinner locations look like and maybe pimp it there.

But Brian, I heard you have an in with the Cleveland Police.

I was able to use the 3 existing holes for the 3 stacked lnobs. I can now really control the tone on my 4004. I also added a battery box on the back of the bass.

Let's hear it!! More low end? (I loves me some low end..)
