I always thought the f-hole was the most interesting look on Rics. The slash hole is traditional, but the f-hole makes it stand out. Shoulda bought a 1997/1997SPC when they were in production...of course, when I coulda gotten a steal on one (2002-06), I didn't know about eBay and the used market.

I played one today- a few chips in the finish, but a KILLER instrument. The F hole looks cool, and 21 frets+toasters= Rick heaven. If I hadn't blown the budget on a vinatge Rick this year it's be mine!

OK, if somebody here buys it send me some lovin'! It was at a store called 'Music Maxx' in Nanaimo, BC. It's on consignment for $1800 Canadian. One ding on the back of the neck and one on the edge of the horn if I recall correctly. Thought it sounded great, and though I think of myself as preferring vintage Ricks this was really easy to play- closer to vintage than most modern Ricks.

1800 is a GREAT price! Even if one of you Yanks wants to ship it back over the border, you'll come out on top!

Oh JAKE??? :D :D

I was happy it was on the market! :D Nah, I'm toying with idea of trading my trusty Fenders for it. That or Emerald City's 1998 PT.

Sometime, if I can find it, I'll post some pics of the very peculiar upper pickguard that came with it.

Oh come on, Jake. Just buy it already, when are you ever going to see one for less than $1700 US again? There's no point in the Townshend model unless you're a collector. Who wants that goofy pickguard anyways?
