The 310/12 in front with the birdseye maple fretboard belongs to another Forumite. I did the maple fretboard and corrected (for the most part) a twist in the neck.
It's since been supplanted by my AFG 1996, not shown.

The Blue Boy is my favorite of this lot, followed by the 310/12. Wow!

Paul, is the one in the back left the early 80's one? Always liked that one - glad you swapped out the Higains for Toasters.

Yeah, that's the one, JB. I was trying to capture the spirit of a '58 by redoing it, before I knew enough about the '58s to do it with complete accuracy.
These days, I'd add a plate to the body back to increase the thickness, and narrow the headstock. De-varnish the fretboard, too.
But it's still cool with its 2-knob, one-switch wiring scheme, and 12K toasters. The Kaufmann is pinned, BTW.

I bought my 320 in 1980 from Knut Koupee music store in Minneapolis. They claimed that JL had special ordered a 3/4 scale black from Rickenbacher and they asked to have another one made as well - ha ha! I think I may have believed it at the time. I still have the receipt $620 is what I paid. The bridge was in the wrong spot, and never played in tune till I had a repair guy fix it. It's played beautifully for me and has been my main electric guitar for about twenty years.

That's a great story about some, uhh, creative marketing.

Glad you got the intonation sorted out. I know it's been worth it.
And welcome to our
looney bin forum! Please stick around and maybe share some photos of your darling.

I've posted this before, but thought this thread needed business

. Once again, my brother Brian's
June 1980 320 (TF2435). I added the RIC Vibrato for him one Christmas! Of course he still has the "R" tailpiece.

Nice! The spitting image of my own (formerly) jetglo, and two years younger. Mine is away being refinished right now, and I sure do miss her. Fortunately I have my 325V59 to console me.

Brian has a thing for this bodystyle. In fact, besides this one, he has a 325JL and a 350SH! By the way, what finish are you going with on your 320?
