After I posted I realized rates would be up, but then that is what Aitch's pad is for...FREE accomodations!

Jeff, you could always pitch a tent in our backyard.

But you never know, the way things are looking we just might have a spare room at our place. :D

The contention at present is that it may be held either a week before or after the 2010 Grand Prix.(Early March).
More details as they come to hand!! :D

Greetings !! What's the latest news/update on the potential calendar/time for next year's big event :?:

And may we assume that Confluence activities will be scheduled in safe areas, free from the threats of
"Drop Bears" and other inhospitable wildlife

Cheers,

Gerry, you know you are more than welcome.
A few of the Melbourne suspects will try and get together before Aitch heads over to the UK in June. Put our heads together and see what we can organize. May be a few beers involved. :D

Only "a few?" That doesn't sound like it will lead to very much creativity

Update:

We'll be meeting on June 20th to work out some dates and possible venues and/or activities. Darren and I discussed a few things last night and we might put it back to late March/early April to coincide with Easter (Good Friday is April 2nd) so that we can have the maximum possible attendance by Aussie members. We're also thinking the event hub will be out of the CBD area...... not too far - a 20 minute drive or train trip to the city and environs but still well within the 'burbs and fairly close to the beaches.

When we've come up with some options we'll post the details here so that we can gauge interest and potential numbers. From there we can work out accommodation, venues, activities, etc. It's our hope to be have as many visitors as possible stay with forum members and therefore reduce costs substantially. We may even be able to rotate that so that visitors can stay with more than one member during their time here.

Stay tuned.........
