Elvis Presley's "That's All Right" was originally a blues song by which artist?

Arthur Crudup, Brian.......... as distinct from his second cousin Billy Bob Crudown!

OK - here's one from me.

One of John Mayall's early works is 'Burn Out Your Blind Eyes'. It appears on a compilation album with a number of other notables - including Eric Clapton, Champion Jack Dupree, Peter Green, Steve Anglo, Curtis Jones, Otis Spann, Steve Winwood and John McVie.

What's the name of the album and when was it released?

(sounds of evil laughter)

This may be a toughie, but if you know the album "Blues Professor" you will know the name of Sonny Terry's famous nephew. It so happens I had the privilege of backing him up many, many times. 8)

Excellent, Howard. He would sit facing the audience, playing the harp with one hand, slapping those bones on his knee with the other, and singing like, well, the real mccoy. We would meet up with a few others and do the coffee houses on Grant Street regularly...North Beach, that is

"Three Hundred Pounds Of Joy", by Howlin Wolf. Was it Willie Dixon who covered it?
Here's a nice tribute:<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8zT7z2VIOmg&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8zT7z2VIOmg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/youtube]

Close Kira,

Willie Dixon wrote it. Howlin' Wolf cut a record of it.

Let's see if these lyrics ring a bell:

“Now, when I was young boy,
At the age a-five,
My mother say I's gonna be,
The greatest man alive,
But now I'm a man,
I past twenty-one,
I want you to believe me, honey,
I have lots a-fun.”

What song are they from and who wrote it?

Yeah they sure do ring all kinds of bells.

I think Howlin' Wolf wrote it. And if I were shopping for the song, I'd look under "I'm a Man" as the title.
