The Showcase room at Backline is a much wider stage than the one at Bombshelter... maybe not as long or deep on the other dimension as Bombshelter (for the "audience" section), but definitly more musicians, mic stands and amps can be comfortably across the stage at the same time at Backline... the costs are pretty similar I think as Bombshelter.

Right about Sound Matrix being in Fountain Valley, it's across the street from the FV GC. I don't care for the rooms there.
Backline or Bombshelter is fine with me, but true the wide stage at Backline is much roomier than the stage at Bombshelter.

Thanks for the follow up Joey and Rich. Yes, I meant Backline, not Sound Matrix. Apologies for the confusion.
I'm looking at either Backline or Bomb Shelter studios to have the NAMMinicon at.
An alternative would be to find a studio right near the Convention Center where NAMM's being held.
SO, who can make it Friday night? Anyone? anyone? Bueller, Bueller? Calling out to members of the cat herd, RIC folks, and out of town forumites attending NAMM.

Not exactly a studio, but this room, about 6.5 miles from the Anaheim Convention Center, should be available by then ...

- Future music room ...
... but it will have a lot of musical equipment in it by then! And will be a different color!

I'm there Paul!
A good friend of mine (and fantastic drummer of my old band) just picked up a 330 MG, so I think I've persuaded him to take it out to the next Minicon, where we can admire his new guitar, then make him put it down and play drums! He's great

Okay, so who can make it Friday night? Ya'll don't have to be there for the entire time, start to finish, and we can always start later, say 7-11PM, or 8-12PM.
Anyone? Anyone? Members of the cat herd

?
Yes! I am making the 3000 mile trek to be there Friday night! Seriously!
So who among the herd will be showing up to share their catnip?
Word! Us West-coasters get to meet the man-the myth-the legend?

The weekend after might make a better plan.
