Thanks Erik. What will you be doing on the other side of the country and where?

Hey guys, it totally sucks about the layoffs & job losses. My holiday wish is you will find another, even better job quickly and easily. I truly wish you all the very best of luck.

I'm not sure that the economy has affected any plans for Ricks, since I didn't really have any plans.

It has definitely affected my ability to act on any of the good deals that seem to be showing up due to the economy... :(

A lot of good deals on the Bay. I just saw a 4001CS go for under $2400.00! If I'd had the scratch, that woulda been the itch!

Well considering you got yours at a bargain basement price....i'll wait to see what's instore with my Christmas bonus! My educated guess is that Andrea has already spent it!
I notice someone has made an opening bid, so i'd hate to rain on a forum members' parade.
Very tempting though, at that price. The seller has a few Ricks i see.

I was informed yesterday that my job was being eliminated at the end of February. Just kind of odd that they paid for my relocation only 18 months ago and are not even trying to keep me around. All plant-level GMs are being eliminated. Good luck to them trying to run a manufacturing facility without any management on-site. Pretty dismal job prospects around here. Looks like another move coming up. Definitely no Rick purchases in 2009. Hopefully I won't have to sell any either!

Ooh, bad luck there, sorry to hear about your job loss. :(

My company just informed my team today that they are getting rid of a whole bunch of folks. So far it looks like we're safe, but we just have to pick up all the work the not so lucky ones were doing. That's far better than the alternative.

Good luck in finding something! Hopefully soon...

I don't really respond to the rumblings above ground, being on a fixed and limited income. I do have a wish list, but I will have to let my music pay for that, if and when it comes to fruition. I also hope that I won't be forced to sell the ricks I have meantime. I'm really sorry to hear so many of you takin' it on the chin, sincerely. :) Best fortune to everyone here in the new year from me to you.

I'm in the same boat you're in, Kira. I don't think there will be any major purchases after my Rick gets paid off. Any extra money I make through teaching or performin will likely go toward funding a trip out to the Left Coast this summer.

It's distressing to hear the news that some of you are facing job loss. Been there. I hope you'll do all right and that your fortunes will improve soon.

Bob- Very sorry to hear the bad break given you. I've been through that myself back in the early 90's. I sincerely wish you the best of luck.
