I like that one a lot Joey. Vintage trim would look nice on it.

I think so too Dane. It almost looks like a Jetglo V63 with 8 strings to me anyway. :D

So true, but I sure wouldn't dare taking the wood out to move to the 1/2" spacing!!

I wouldn't remove any material either at that critical structural point just to move a pickup 1/2" forward. A vintage guard extending all the way to the pickup surround gives the visual illusion of the pickup moving forward anyway.

4003s/8
And someone finally took it with the $2800 BIN.
Did anyone here pick it up?

Anyone here know how many of the S/8's were produced? I think it's a question we all would like to know the answer to ....

I wouldn't think of removing wood to move the neck pickup to 1/2" spacing on an 8 string. A RIHS pickup with a vintage surround (if I could find one) and a vintage style pickguard are the changes I would consider. The possibility of me doing any of that is little to none anyway.

There is a lot to that actually. I have always felt that my S/8 and my V63 were nearly the same bass. They have the same body shape (horn sizes and depth of the cut-aways) and the necks are about the same shape.
