+1. If Rickenbacker started producing 21-fret standard models again, I would immediately buy one. The 24s have nothing on the 21s aesthetically, and functionally I never use the extra three frets. Might be nice on a Les Paul, but not worth the "big-forehead" compromise on a Rick.

Anyone who prefers 24-fret models has 30 years of non-vintage, non-overpriced guitars to choose from.

Brilliantly put. I started buying old rics because I liked the neck pickup position so much better on the 21ers. Of course, back then older rics were cheaper than newer ones.

I'm surprised how reasonable older Ricks are. Unless you're after something particularly desirable (a 360 OS or RM for example) you can get some vintage 330s and 360s for slightly more than a new Rick. The recent new Ricks I've played are great instruments (actually, I've never encountered a truly bad Rick from any era) but if you want 21 frets and vintage mojo it's very viable financially.

Well, it looks narrower than the headstock on my '07 330... Maybe it's the angle.
