1967 Gibson ES 335

Thanks so much for posting that gorgeous sunburst. Yours appears to be in really good shape too, while mine has taken a few hits and repaired, et. No matter, as you say, they're built really solid. The neck feature is what really closes the deal for me - it just melts in my hand.

I don't see too many early sunbursts, even though that's the "official" vintage finish for some folks for these guitars. Something about that red, though, just makes one think of Clapton, Albert Lee, BB King, well, you get my drift. I'm glad I don't have to decide because they're both beautiful classic colors.

Lessee, if you've got my guitar's sister, does that make you my brother-in-law?

Francis: A gorgeous instrument. On day I hope to have, old or new, a Gibson ES-175. The ES-335 is, however, very hard to beat for tone and playability.

Kira's 335 just inspired me to join. Heh, the irony is, I'll probably get a Rick someday after getting the itch here! Wouldn't that be terrible?!?

Well, should you get the itch for one, this is the right place to find it. The marketplace forums see tons of beautiful Ricks trade hands as well as Second Strum forum where you can find all other brands of gear for sale. I trust the members here way more than eBay or Craigslist, for example.

Thanks for posting this, Kira. I have a walnut 1968 ES-335 that is identical to yours in every other aspect, including bridge, tailpiece, knobs and inlays. I had never seen another exactly like it, so I was wondering myself how original it is... apperently, both are dead on.

Nice guitar Kira. Put 6 more strings on it and it'll look like my 12-er. It's real hard to beat them 335's. Don't change a thing.
