There's a possibility that I'll have to work that Saturday morning. If so, I'll just miss the first hour or two.

The Friday night practijam went well, helped along by some fine red wine.

We're getting together again on Tuesday night, as well as on Friday night at my place. We'll have a few new numbers by by the Plimsouls, and (we hope) by the Gin Blossoms, and possibly a few others, ready for Saturday's jam session; should be fun, and add a bit more variety to the jam.
It was great to meet new forum member "Original 360" Robert Schneider; he's a local Long Beach resident as well.
Looking forward to seeing all of you next weekend!

Jeez, that version caused my cats to fold their ears back as soon as I hit "play".
I like this version, but I don't think it's in my range.
The cats were acting in a most hilarious fashion while we were playing last night; walking in to the room, meowing, sitting on the amps, licking peoples' arms, jumping in laps, et cetera. My chubby Silver Tabby, Skye, formed an attachment to Bob's guitar case; over the course of the evening we found her alternately stretched out on or sitting upright atop it. Evidently, my cats like Rickenbackers and those who play them.

Hey I thought Danotron did pretty well there at the end of the Friday practice, playing the Plimsouls with the cat on his lap at the same time. Your cats definitely have a thing for Rickenbackers and their owners
It was nice that Bob "Original 360" could join in.... I hope he feels a warm welcome from the RRF ..... that's a beautiful 1967 Mapleglo he brought
Paul, Thanks for positng these You Tubes for practicing. I also was able to download chord/tab for Million Miles Away on "Guitar Notes" site.
Regards
Rich

Please Please Me Beatles Key of C ...
Is that the right key for a song that starts on an E chord?
You're right --- there's probably a few more that I wrote down the wrong key.... probably got them that way from some erroneous downloaded Tabs that were posted somewhere
Sorry for the confusion...
Rich
Thanks for the clarification, Rich!
BTW, how about adding "I'm Looking Through You" [capo on the first fret] and "From Me To You" to the Beatles list ...?
I'd also like to add some CCR songs (Down On The Corner, Born On The Bayou, Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Up Around The Bend), but it appears that I'm the only one who knows them ...

Me
Reminder wrt Drums:
Rich's friend Robert will be there at the start, and once again, my friend Paul Sakry should arrive at 2:30 or 3 PM to play some drums, just like last time. Collin's inviting one of his drummer pals as well.
The location again:
So Cal Minicon in the OC, Saturday March 14th, noon to 8 PM at Backline Rehearsal Studios in Garden Grove, CA.
Backline is located at:
7251 Garden Grove Blvd Garden Grove, CA 92841 - (714) 895-7345
http://www.backlinerehearsals.com/
We should have some additional attendees from my Facebook posting as well as from the RIC corporate site.
We're also getting together once more at my place on Friday evening if anyone els is interested in stopping by for a bit of low volume, pre jam jamming; Rich, Dan, bob, and I have gotten together twice and it's been a lot of fun.

Also, recall that Backline's official policy is "no alcohol" so if you're bringing any refreshments that contain alcohol, please be discreet, and remember to pick up; there's a camera in the room keeping an eye on us, IIRC.

Good song ideas, Gary. BTW do you happen to know the "Key of" for those Beatles and CCR tunes suggested so we can compile a more complete list

I think of few of us have soome familiarity with the Creedence material....
Cordially

Not being a 'real' musician, i can't name the key, but here are the starting chords for each:
I'm Looking Through You [capo on the first fret] - G (in the intro, this is played initially as a D shape chord up on the 8th fret)
From Me To You - C
Down On The Corner - C the first chord of the verse (the first chord played after the intro, which starts on a C note, is F)
Born On The Bayou - E7 (C7 pattern played on the 5th fret)
Bad Moon Rising - D (barre chord, 10th fret)
Have You Ever Seen The Rain - C (the first chord of the verse; the intro starts on Am)
Up Around The Bend - D (first chord after the intro)
Others I remembered today are (1) The Story In Your Eyes by The Moody Blues ... the first chord of the verse is Am; (2) It Don't Come Easy by Ringo Starr - D.
