What are the best guitar stands to use? I heard "A" stands are good, and I have one lying around...
I like to put mine in the case whenever I'm going to be away for it for more than a couple of minutes, But I've got a couple of "Ultimate" brand stands that seem pretty stable and, according to John Hall, won't hurt the finish.
Oh, but keep the stand on the floor, not up on the table...

I have a couple of Ultimate stands. I like them. I've also heard good reports on Hercules stands, though I do not own one.

I agree with the choice of Ultimate stands. Unfortunately my favorite by them is now out of production. I find it almost imposible to tip these over.

Any stand will do the trick as long as you keep it on the floor.

Congratulations Jake!!!
Ditto on all the comments about where Guitar stands are supposed to "stand."

I own a couple of Hercules stands and they are top notch....I don't know that I'd ever be tempted to use anything else.....

Expect pics Monday or Tuesday. My hair has also grown out a little bit since the last pics I took. My windmills have gotten better, too.
Here's a bit of trivia you guys didn't know:
Down in Louisiana, High School Seniors have to do something called a Progressive Research Paper (PRP). Initially, I wanted to do it on The History of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, but given the limited amount of information I had on him ("Runnin' Down a Dream" DVD was all, really). I spent my Junior year working on a paper on Tom Petty, but when it came time for my Senior year, I was so into The Who, I said, "The Music Must Change" (Who Pun) and I switched my topic to The Who because there was a wider source of information. I was one of the few students in my English IV class who got an "A" on the paper. There is a presentation portion of the PRP where you go up to a panel of judges, and you are supposed to provide a PowerPoint highlighting the paper, along with the choice of another visual aid. I was initally going to use the 1997 and perform the first to verses of "My Generation" since it was the guitar that Pete used and "Generation" is an essential Who track. After the 1997 broke, I thought I was going to have to just do a PowerPoint, but now, I can "perform" "Generation" with my new 1997SPC.
I present my "History of The Who" paper on Wednesday morning at 10:30am.

How much are tickets, and is it sold out yet? I just checked with Ticketmasters, I see it is sold out!

Congrats on your hard work. You're the youngest vintage music authority I know.
Break a leg with the presentation (but not literally, of course

).

You've got to capitalize that "W" Scotty.

Jake, you are in a unique position to show a guitar from both before and after a performance of Pete's! ("... and here's what Pete's guitar might have looked like after the concert ...")

My mom said if another Rickenbacker gets broken, no more guitars for me.
