You are quite right Paul! Filed a complaint, he contacted me, and all is resolved! Seems like a genuine guy!

As a footnote to this , i also bought from this seller, and it has taken over 6 weeks. Cloth has not arrived. Every excuse under the sun..."i've just recovered from a heart attack"....."It's been lost in the mail, i've sent a second delivery"......and so on! Now he's not replying to emails.
Seems he doesnt like Australians, as all his negative feedback is from Oz buyers who never received their Vox cloth!

Killer, Greg. Now, find some black silicone caulk in a tube (hardware store or home center). Remove the "Valvetronix" plate, and you'll see two 2mm holes in the Tolex from the pins that secure the plate.. Using a toothpick (or in Aitch's case, a chicken skewer), dab some silicone into the hole to cover it over.

The aim here is neither to fill the hole nor make a smooth cover--you want to cover over the hole, and then put a small random dot of silicone or two on top of the other silicone, in order to add a bit of texture and trick the eye into seeing unbroken black textured Tolex. This may take two applications--one to bridge over the hole, and the next day after curing, the "dot" application. Don't worry, it adheres to itself very well.

Now you've got a non-Valvetronix look, which I think looks better. YMMV, of course.

If you want something that's more durable than black silicone, and, possibly even a closer match in toughness and and maybe even color, you can try black polyurethane roof and flashing sealant. This stuff sets up with about the same consistency as the black rubber on running shoe soles, really tough stuff. I'm not sure if it comes in anything smaller than the tubes for caulking guns though. This stuff sticks to anything, and it's really difficult to remove 'cause it sticks really well.

Here's one brand of the stuff, $6.49, Home Depot carries it too (or the used to anyway). There's probably something like this available where you are:

Yep. It makes sense if you've got a house caulking job with a smidge left over...because it takes about .01cc to do both holes!

I've actually got a couple of tubes left over I could let go cheap...

Great idea, i'd not thought of removing the valvetronix badge. Plenty of urethane sealant at work!
