Yes on both accounts. The 360 I got from Scotland as well, btw.

Just wait till I've replaced every bit except the TRC and tail piece... it'll look even better then. Eventually it should get a new coating... but I keep that for last!

Two lovely Rickenbackers, congrats!! Wow.

I really fancy a 480 to be honest. I think it might be a purchase in the future.

As for Peter Buck, I love him.

I waited a year and a half before getting my second RIC. I'm currently at 5.

Well, extremely nice Ric you got in your avatar! I should properly tune my 480... and look up the tabs for "Little Black Egg" :D

Let's just say I already crossed a boundary when getting the 480... not going to try my luck again

Instead of starting a new thread I decided to post this in here, as it's about this guitar anyway.

The 360 had some highly annoying and irritating chime on - especially - the b-chord when picking, not strumming.

Scotty and me discussed this over and over, and I first of all checked the bridge, which turned out to be more than okay (I even put the bridge from my 340 on it, without the chime getting less or worse) and turned out not to be the source of the chime.

I straighted the neck slightly by adjusting the rods 1/8th of a turn clockwise. No effect on the chime.
Eventually ideas ran out, so, eventually I took it to my Gibson repair station colleagues.

Paul, who's owned a 360/12 looked at it, and it was confirmed the b-string was hitting other frets, causing the chime.

We went from there and decided the totally straight neck's not going to help us getting rid of the chime.
Trusrodadjuster enters the scene... TRC is removed... and... no room to adjust it counterclockwise than slightly more than the 1/8th I originally adjusted it.

I was ready to sell the parts and burn the body in the fireplace, I tell you guys!
Only thing left to try: going from .010 to .011. I can actually play without the chime now!

:D

Weird that going to a bigger string made the problem go away. Seems like the opposite would have worked.

Have you thought about either a refret, or maybe one of those Plek'd machines?
