Just about all of his material was played with an acoustic 12-string.

In the meantime, I enjoy fiddling with The Beatles' "I call Your Name", R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts" which sounds delicious on a 12-string, as well as Roger Hodgson/Supertramps "Give A Little Bit".

I saw them in the early mid-80s with the Temptations and the Four Tops at Disneyland. Great fun, and the bands were all great that day, even though security wasn't. It was like a So Cal version of Footloose-"Hey you kids, you can't dance here!"

I agree that Long Cool Woman sounds great on a Rick. I've played it at gigs a few times, but that intro is a killer on a 12 string.
And to whojamfan, I've never done Secret Agent Man on a 12er, but at one gig we had the singer sing it in Spanish (Hombre Secreto). The look on the keyboard player's face was priceless.

Thanks for reminding me that he was (or stil is ?) a great songwriter. He worked with some great musicians, among them keyboarder Peter Robinson and bass player Johnny Gustafson - they had their own project called Quatermass, one of my favourite bands these days , great LP..
