Yeah, there's definitely good and bad ones. I was referring to how on some of them the top tube can move so that the guitar hangers aren't over the feet, making it quite tipsy.

Here is the latest update on this.

I contacted Hercules here in the UK and gave them the story.
I got a very sympathetic response and they've offered to pay all the costs for the restoration of the guitar and they are going to replace my stand with this one.

Now I know the Ric will never be as good as new, but I'm totally impressed with their customer service.

That's tremendous goodwill service. Congrats! I've pretty much given up on getting that kind of settlement from anyone who's caused so much grief.

BTW, I see that this "Home Series" is where I should be headed next--the stands in this series are a more tasteful copper/black.

With 101 available excuses, they chose to just do the right thing. Classy outfit. I'm glad for you, Rob, and I'm proud to use their products.

Yeah, it's pretty rare in this day and age to get such a sympathetic and helpful ear from any business or company. I was shocked and pleasantly suprised.
The home series of guitar stands do look a lot better and less like power drill accessories.
I see the home series is listed on the US site and you have also got this which is not yet available in the UK.......

Well, it looks like it's great for something like a guitar show, but for real use???

Wow, that's phenomenal that they want to pick up the tab for repairs. That's the mark of a really great outfit. Kudos to Herc.

I've seen the little stands used in enclosed display cases. That seems like a safe and attractive use for them.

I'll pass on the iStand, unless maybe it's got a web browser?
