Miguel, I've been waiting for this last movement. Such beauty on the bass - awesome composition for Chris. You have done it total justice. Kudos. The ending still gives me chills, as does the ending to Nu Sommes du Soleil.
Are you a video editor by trade? Great presentation. You have inspired me to dig out my color slides from the 70s of Yes's tour stops here. I really hope I got one of the green laser cone over John as he breaks into the Soon vocal. Jeez, I hope they've survived the storage in the basement.....

Miguel,
I've also been waiting eagerly for you to complete my favorite masterwork from Yes with that second movement. Once again you have sent me away to another planet, this time one of magnificent serenity and peace. I'm going to sleep with the angels tonight with your beautiful video fresh in my mind's eye. Simply gorgeous.

Well Miguel, I think thaty pretty much tops it off! Nice trillogy! I have always felt that part 3 was some of the neatest combinations of instruments and vocals ever! I have heard about 3 or 4 different recordings of GOD and I think you have pretty much captured what was intended by Chris. There are folks who can do the technical part of playing it and there are those few who can do that as well as convey the feel... you have done that here. Thanks, job well done!!!

Finally had the time. I do not have a picture of the green laser though. Three tours - '76, '77, and '78. The first two tours I got some really nice shots, but the '78 was "In The Round" and the pictures did not turn out as nice, though I do have several shots of Chris vamping during what had to be a log bass solo.
The treasure of the bunch?? Three or four shots of the potato-head 8 stringer! Interestingly, it is BT with black body binding but it has a dot inlay fretboard. Deluxe/S mix there. The other really neat ones are the closup/very closeup shots of Steve concentrating on his solo work and steel playing.
On the '78 tour, Chris is playing a lot of different basses (RM, Mr. PH, his Jazz, and a two pup I never saw before or can identify) and also his Rick 6 string acoustic. Steve played his Rick 6 stringer also.
Now where did I keep the b&w negatives???

Dear Friends,
Once again thank you for your warm comments. It's a joy to read your words. It's been like a long marathon and it's wonderful that we all stuck together to this final stage of Gates! Thank you deeply
I dived as much as I was able to into this particular song and, on the following days after I completed it, I still wanted to do something more with it, for sure inspired by your responses. The idea came that I could extend a bit this particular song and interact with the viewers of my YouTube channel. So, if you permit I will talk about it here too.
The idea is basically invite you to share your interpretation of Soon lyrics - what they mean to you. This is because I feel this particular poem is somewhat symbolic of Yes' music and can be related also to our own lives.
I'd like to know, and hopefully people would like to read, what you think about the message within "Soon".
In case you are a non-english speaker, your personal translation in your mother tongue would add your feelings in your own words. More than just a technical translation - a soul translation and a musical translation - i.e. shaping the words as to be sung in that language. A collaboration video could be made - ideally - "Soon" would be sung in all languages.
The entry for your words/translations/thoughts is at my site

thank you very much for reading!
Miguel
