360/12 V64: unbound sound hole, toaster pickups, 21 frets, plexi name plate, black pointer knobs, full width inlays, Trapeze Tailpiece. I think they also have "dual mono" instead of ROS, but I could be mistaken on that one, and vintage Kluson style tuners.

Thanks for the info Paul. I was confused over the various 360 models. Seems like a different tailpiece, knobs or vibrato can change the model designation.
I've got a 360/12v64 Jetglo, which I like alot, also have a 370/12 Mapleglo model that apparently was one of the CW instruments.

Are you sure about that? 21 frets, thin top, checkerboard back binding, Full-width inlays on fretboard, plexi TRC? If so, then somebody stripped it and refinished it MG (very hard to do properly due to color migration) although I suppose it's possible that the factory could have made one MG. Very unlikely, though.

Is the center pickup rout shaped like a racetrack oval as opposed to the rectangular shape on the neck and bridge pickup routs? If so, it's a factory 370, not a CW.

That 370/12 MG you have is properly called a 370/12V67, released in Japan in '03 only and a rarity among collectors. You must post pics!

Kevin Kuney has a '03 360/12V66, released in that same batch of Japan shipments.

Depending on the year, it could be an RM overrun.

As part of a trade for some lapsteels John Hall sent the guitar to me; I asked him to for something close to a McGuinn model. I bought a Jetglo McGuinn back when they came out and sold it later. I regretted selling it, and wanted another without the $5K priced tag. In retrospect I felt Mapleglo would be an appropriate color.

This was in 1999 and obviously it was well past the period when any McGuinn models would still be floating around the Rickenbacker factory. At the same time, legally, additional McGuinns could not be built. So the next closest thing was the CW model, and I suppose that's what JH did. He told me it would take some time for the guitar to be finished, and it arrived about 4 months later.
By separate cover, I received a 12 string bridge for it; at the time I should have asked for the correct knobs and some of the scatterwounds, which I don't think were available at the time..

A hang tag came with the guitar with identifying it's serial number, as a CW model. I guess they had them "in the white", and finished it in MapleGlo. It does have a nicely flamed top. So it's a oddball 370/12.
I don't know if they made any of the 370/12CW in MapleGlo, but that's how this one was finished.

According to JH himself from the RIC Corporate Forums, one two pickup signature model is in MG, and remains unsold. Imagine if Ric put that one up for auction!

Thanks Woody. My not so good memory tells me I special ordered it in '85. A later post says the early ones came with Klusons. Not sure if this qualifies as "early".
