I just bought an Anvil-style case which fits any 300 series Ric. Yeah, it'll cost more to fly with it, but that's the way it goes.

I also have all my gear insured. Too manty stories like this from friends.

Pete Greenwood's advice shoud be a sticky...

Andy, have you seen "Kenny" the movie recently? I'm intrigued by your use of the word muppet...

I had a great post ready to go last night, stayed up especially to listen in and Monty managed to carry his bat. I wasn't very happy...

Gerry,

Apologies, lost this thread in the vacation switch. I haven't seen "Kenny" but I'll PM you re the vernacular/cricket!

Back to the topic here...

This could end up a very reasonable price. Hopefully someone here will be tempted...

I travelled from Baltimore to Argentina last june it was a 1 stop trip in houston. After considering it for long, I decided to buy a cheap keyboard ATA case which would be big enough to fit my 4003's OHSC inside and I used some bubble wrap and some clothes to pack it. I gotta say i am very happy i made that choice. I had to pay very little extra (only 25$ because I was taking 2 items instead of 1) The case was still inside the company's allowances for musical instruments (it's important to point out at the check in desk that its a musical instrument, since some companies allow for bigger and heavier items without extra costs in such cases). The case arrived very well and had no problems whatsoever. I still have my OHSC to move around, and the ATA case can be left storaged - or even used - for future flights.

BTW, I think that baggage handlers have more trouble throwing big and heavy cases and bags, so that might have also helped.

Cheers!
