Yes but that was back in "The Dark Ages" before "American Idol" and "(you country here)'s Got Talent"
Ashley's "Mall Tour" lands at MOA(Mall Of America).

Actually, the mods traditionally wore continental suits, often referred to as "italian cut" or "carnaby suits".
Zoot suits usually had shoulder pads, wide lapels, and pleated pants....all things, traditionally, most un-mod/modern.
Yeah, and specifically they were an Italian style called the "box cut" with a very short coat often referred to as a "bumfreezer" jacket.
This was, of course, only one (the most popular) mod style back then. Pete Meaden referring to it as a "Zoot Suit" in the song of the same title was an incorrect slang that never truly caught on.

Looking at it again, doesn't it look like a poorly done version of George Harrison's '62 Fender Strat's finish?
Let me ask you guys this: Do any of you like the finish on George's Strat?

That is the first thing that popped into my head upon seeing that, um, SG.

I have to disagree. George's Strat was painted 2-D while the Zoot Suit's colors are achieved by carving through the different colored layers to make 3-D. They are completely different concepts in my mind.

I'm not saying they are similar in conception, just the multicolored bands reminded me of Bebopalupa.

OK, I guess stripes are stripes, and you don't see many concentrically striped guitars out there. But what else could I say after seven years in art school?
